In December 2025, the Southwestern Advantage Foundation organized an Entrepreneurial Youth Scholarship Event in Hungary as part of its ongoing work in countries where the Southwestern Advantage student program operates.

Across Central and Eastern Europe, the Foundation supports students through scholarship initiatives that combine financial support with practical skill development. The Hungarian event followed this approach by engaging university students through a competitive application process and an educational seminar designed to add real value for every participant.

The scholarship program recognizes students who show initiative, strong communication skills, and ambition.

Applications were received from students studying at Óbuda UniversityBudapest University of Economics and Business (BGE)Corvinus University of BudapestEötvös Loránd University, and METU.

After review of all applications, 17 students were invited to take part in a live educational seminar. During the event, each participant delivered a presentation in a real-world setting.

Based on written applications, seminar participation, and presentation performance, one student received a scholarship award of 200,000 HUF.

The 2025 Youth Leadership Scholarship was awarded to Péter Balogh, who achieved outstanding results in both jury evaluation and peer feedback.

Péter Balogh was recognized for his strong mix of entrepreneurial activity, leadership, and social engagement. He studies law and business management and is active in several professional fields as a self-employed entrepreneur and youth advocate.

In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Péter represents Hungary internationally as a Junior Youth Delegate to the United Nations. In this role, he contributes to national youth engagement projects and helps young people launch local initiatives. He continues his academic development at Corvinus University and Eötvös Loránd University.

Due to the strong overall quality of applications, several candidates finished close to the top and demonstrated exceptional potential.

The Foundation thanks the Budapest University of Economics and Business (BGE) for supporting the event by providing the venue.

Southwestern Advantage Foundation’s vision is to be the biggest charitable foundation in Eastern Europe that is built on investment principles and helping young people in obtaining knowledge and developing character so they can fulfill their dreams in life. We help European youth get better entrepreneurship education and offer investment knowledge to those who do not have the opportunity. We are working to reduce and prevent poverty.

We only donate money from the fund’s passive income by directing 50% of the return to charity and 50% back to the fund. That is how your good deed will remain giving forever.
